There is something incredibly special about documenting a family as they grow, and this session was one I won’t soon forget. As an Indianapolis twin newborn photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing some truly beautiful milestones, and this second-time mama welcoming her very first set of twins was one of them.
This family already knew the rhythm of newborn life, but adding two babies at once brings a whole new kind of magic.
Big sister completely stole my heart during our session. She was so loving, gentle, and eager to help, carefully staying close to her new siblings and proudly stepping into her role. Watching her interact with the twins was such a reminder of how meaningful sibling relationships begin right from the start. While I typically photograph in-home and studio newborn sessions, I was genuinely excited when this mama asked about an outdoor newborn session. We met at Central Park in Carmel, Indiana, and it was absolutely perfect. The golden sunlight filtered through the trees, giving us that soft, glowing light that simply can’t be replicated indoors. There truly is nothing better than warm, golden fall light. We also lucked out with beautiful fall weather, which meant the babies stayed comfortable and cozy throughout the session—always a top priority when photographing newborns outdoors.
This mama is also the owner of Grace and Genesis Doula Services, a thriving birth and postpartum doula business serving families throughout Indianapolis.
She is incredible at what she does. If you’re expecting and considering overnight postpartum support or a birth doula, Sara and her team are truly the best of the best. Having knowledgeable, compassionate support during pregnancy and postpartum can make all the difference, especially when welcoming twins. I typically photograph newborn sessions around two weeks after birth, but this timeframe is always flexible. I understand that every birth experience is different, and sometimes there may be delays in getting home from the hospital or parents may need extra time to rest and recover.
If you’re expecting twins and searching for an Indianapolis twin newborn photographer, I would love to chat with you. When you inquire, we’ll reserve your due date on my calendar, but we won’t schedule the actual session until after your babies arrive. This allows flexibility while ensuring your family is fully taken care of during this incredibly special season. Reach out soon to secure your spot—I’d love to document this chapter for you.
