frequently asked questions

when should we book our family session?

I recommend booking 2-3 months ahead of time, as some months fill up very quickly especially in the Spring and Fall!  It's always best to secure a spot ahead of time and as we get closer we will finalize a date as you know your schedule better. 

can we bring our dog to the session?

Yes please!  I have two dogs of my own and love including fur babies in a few of your family photos, because after all, they're family too!  If it's going to warmer out, I suggest having someone bring the dog at the beginning or towards the end of the session so that you don't have to worry about them being distracting or tied up to a tree during the rest of our session together. 

what should we wear?

One thing I love doing is helping you finalize your outfits!  This is the hardest part of planning family photos.  If you want my help, you will have access to my Styling service where you can input sizes of each family member and choose the color scheme you're interested in and it will give you several options.  After your done it will send you links for everything! If you don't want to do this, ask me and I'll be happy to create a custom mood board just for you.  You will also have access to the client closet with a variety of dresses and sizes and I will bring the ones that you choose steamed and ready to wear.  You're welcome to bring your own dress, but this is a luxury service that I provide for my clients that takes the stress out of knowing what looks good on camera if you want to take advantage of it. 

do you suggest locations?

Yes!  When you book it will prompt you to fill out a short questionnaire.  Based on the vibe you're interested in, I will have several suggestions for you. You will also have access to my Family Guide where I have a list of locations we love, as well as other tips and tricks.  I've photographed at all of these locations and they're easy to search on the blog for examples of what you can expect!
