Fall engagement photos at Newfields in Indianapolis are always enjoyable, especially when it involves a couple as delightful as Rachel and Ryan. The journey with this lovely pair began when Rachel booked me for their 2024 wedding back in 2022. Little did I know, their engagement session at Newfields would become a highlight in my photography career as I shot some of my first film images at their session.
A Leap of Faith: From Booking to the Beautiful Newfields
It all started with Rachel’s trust in my work, securing their wedding day way in advance. Back then, their wedding was the sole event filling both my professional and personal calendar. Fast forward to their engagement photos at Newfields in Indianapolis, it provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the essence of their love.
Dancing in the Gorgeous Fall Light
Interacting with Rachel and Ryan during the photo session was an absolute joy. The golden fall light played its part, creating a magical atmosphere that translated into beautiful images. They were so patient with me as I dabbled with my film camera during a session for one of the first times, capturing some of my all-time favorite shots on that very first roll of film.
Best Dressed and a Spider’s Rescue
Not only did Rachel and Ryan showcase their genuine love, but they also claimed the “Best Dressed” title effortlessly. Their casual outfits sourced from Zara, paired with matching Nike tennis shoes, added a touch of personal style to the session. A scary moment ensued as Ryan, ever the gentleman, saved me from an unexpected encounter with a ginormous banana spider that I almost backed into while taking a photo of them. Ryan obviously knows his spiders and I’m so thankful he does!
As I eagerly await their June wedding at The Bluffs at Connor Prairie, their fall engagement session at Newfields in Indianapolis will almost be one of my favorites. Rachel and Ryan’s love story, combined with the picturesque garden setting, makes this session one for the books.
