Calie + Clayton | A Columbus, Indiana Wedding

Weddings

January 31, 2023

Happy New Year! We rang in 2023 with Calie and Clayton’s Columbus, Indiana Wedding at Pewter Hall wedding!  This updated venue is located more specifically in Brownstown, Indiana, and what a way to end the year! This small town couple got married at Clayton’s hometown church, we took their portraits on the Clayton’s family farm, and danced the night away with 300 of their friends and family! I can’t think of a better way to have ended 2022, and we are so glad to have been a part of their day!

Calie and Clayton’s crew were so easy going and punctual – it sure made for a relaxed wedding day!

It can be tricky and chaotic to be photographing at 3 locations in one day, but we truly could not have been more relaxed and ahead of schedule thanks to this couple and their awesome wedding party! I love to build extra time into the timeline to account for inevitable delays, but in Calie and Clayton’s case, we had no delays so it allowed them to have extra time! When we first started talking about the wedding timeline, I made many strategic suggestions that would allow them to get the most out of their coverage.

Some of these included a first look and an emphasis on the glow stick dance floor entrance instead of a sparkler exit, especially because in their case this would have been at midnight on New Years Eve! This allowed us plenty of time before the ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church to stop by Clayton’s family farm for photos. The rolling hills and rural landscape made for such great photos where they will be spending a lot of time as a married couple. After all, their new home is just a few houses down from Clayton’s family farm! It was such a relief to have been ahead of schedule – and I loved that the bride and groom could feel relaxed as well!

Their Columbus, Indiana wedding at Pewter Hall quickly became a NYE celebration for their loved ones!

It was so special for Calie and Clayton to not only celebrate their wedding day with their loved ones, but also celebrate the start of a new year as they started married life together! They had a lot of New Year’s Eve props on the dancefloor, including a fun photobooth from All Star Entertainment KY. It was the perfect end to the year for them and their guests.  Just one week before the an arctic winter storm rolled through, and the day before it rained all day.  But by the grace of God, it was cloudy and 50 degrees on Columbus, Indiana wedding! Truly everything worked in this lovely couple’s favor, and it made me so happy for them!

We are so thankful for a great ending to 2022!

We had so much fun ending our year with Callie and Clayton’s Columbus, Indiana wedding at Pewter Hall. This wedding officially closed off our 2022 wedding season – which included 32 weddings and 32 amazing couples whose lives we got to be a part of. We are so thankful for all of our clients and for the blessings that 2022 brought KMP! We are so excited for what’s to come in 2023!
