Caitlin + Brandon | Eagle Creek Park Engagement Session in Indianapolis

Couples

August 22, 2022

Sometimes you can just look at photos and feel summer weather – this was one of those sessions! Caitlin and Brandon’s Eagle Creek Park engagement session was perfected with lush greenery, big smiles, and the most perfect lighting. I was so excited to get back to Eagle Creek and capture this sweet couple on a warm summer night and I can’t wait to share their engagement pictures on the blog!

Caitlin and Brandon met in college at Trine University, where they both were civil engineering students!

It all started when Caitlin and Brandon’s roommates all started hanging out, and soon the group of four did a ton together! Caitlin and Brandon started dating in 2018, and early this year Brandon got down on one knee. They were on a work trip in the gorgeous Cancun, Mexico, and enjoyed a quiet evening along the beach. Caitlin told him how she felt so much gratitude and love for him in that moment, and little did she know, he had the ring in his pocket and he popped the question! Caitlin and Brandon are so sweet – when I asked what they loved about each other, they said almost exact answers! They are both so kind, understanding, and don’t take life too seriously.

Like most couples, Caitlin and Brandon started off shy and soon were smiling and laughing!

The average couple isn’t used to being in front of the camera, so I have a lot of experience “warming up” couples for their engagement sessions! To start off this Eagle Creek Park engagement session, I made sure to incorporate lots of movement that would capture genuine smiles, laughs, and those in-between movements. Anything from walking to bumping hips really helps with this! With more confidence, and a little help from my corney jokes, Caitlin and Brandon were posing and smiling in no time. I just love how happy and genuine their photos feel!

Eagle Creek Park is a great location for engagement photos in the woods!

The park was so green and lush this time of year, and the photos speak for themselves. We captured gorgeous lighting along Lilly Lake, found a quaint gravel pathway, and even a fallen tree which was truly a diamond in the rough. I love how the pictures turned out, especially with the fallen tree – you can see how vast the trees were, and the sun was poking through so perfectly! Eagle Creek is an awesome location, especially if you want a few different background options for a nature filled setting!

Congratulations Caitlin and Brandon!

I was already so excited for your wedding next September, but now I cannot wait!  Caitlin and Brandon chose Heritage Farms for their venue, and I’m excited for my first wedding there. I hope you love these photos from your Eagle Creek Park engagement session – I can’t wait to see how your wedding photos turn out!
