Do you know the best time to have fall engagement photos? Sometime between the last week in October and the first week in November! That is typically when the leaves turn vibrant colors of yellow, orange and red allowing for the most dreamy fall photos!
Because of a scheduling conflict at Newfields, we had to reschedule part two of their engagement session at Newfields to a separate day, which allowed them even more time for their wardrobe change and time in front of my camera! I’m so excited to finally share this darling couple’s fall Newfields and Holcomb Gardens engagement session in Indianapolis on the blog!
Officially Sarah and Jon first met on Tinder, but they didn’t decide to go out with each other until their mutual friends encouraged it!
It turns out that Jon’s friend was Sarah’s assistant lacrosse coach at the University of Indianapolis, and she convinced the both of them to go on a date! Before actually meeting in person, they Facetimed each other a couple of times to see each other, since they were both busy traveling for a while. Jon traveled a lot for work then, and Sarah was traveling and playing lacrosse, so at first Facetime it was. When their schedules allowed, Jon comedically sent an invitation to Sarah in the mail asking her to go on a date! The best part? She still has the invitation!
After the holidays when all of the holiday celebrations had calmed down, Jon took Sarah by surprise!
They had drove from South Bend to Carmel to visit Jon’s family for dinner because it was Jon’s brother’s last day visiting town. Jon mentioned to Sarah that he wanted to go see Monument Circle before they took the Christmas lights down. Unfortunately, Jon’s family wasn’t able to go with them, or so they said, so they went together, just the two of them. Â
After walking around Monument Circle for a few minutes, Jon got to the top and dropped down to one knee to ask Sarah to spend the rest of their lives together! Jon’s brothers were there to capture the whole moment on camera! When they arrived back at Jon’s parent’s home, they were met with another surprise- their best friends waiting for them to celebrate the occasion! Â
Sarah and Jon decided to take on having their engagement session at Holcomb Gardens and Newfields!
For their engagement session at Holcomb Gardens, they wore their more casual outfit. Sarah in an ivory sweater and jeans and Jon in a light blue button down and jeans with loafers. They both wore coordinating fall jackets that I was obsessed with, and sad to hear that she had bought the last one at TJMaxx just the previous week! I just loved the texture of their fall jackets! Â
At Newfields, they wore their dressier outfit- Sarah in a gorgeous green lace A line dress, while Jon in a custom suit that again, had an amazing texture and pattern to it! These two nailed their engagement session outfits!
Before our session, they had both told me that they were nervous for their engagement photos since they hadn’t been in front of the camera much. But after a lot of laughs and figuring out what allowed them to relax a bit, I’m so excited with the shots that we got! Also, lucky for them we had to break up their session into two separate days, so by the second day they were pros! The red wine may have helped too!
Congratulations, Sarah and Jon!
