Seven months after my family and I moved to Indianapolis, I shot my first Indianapolis wedding for Katelyn and Micah and The Kennedy Estate! I was so excited to shoot my first Midwest wedding, let alone a gorgeous barn wedding. Not only was it just a great wedding day, but I got to work alongside Julie and Dylan with Dylan Lee Videography! Even though we had never met before, other than a few emails before regarding the wedding timeline, we worked together seamlessly to get the best photos and video possible for Katelyn and Micah!
Fast forward a few months later, I got an inquiry from Julie wanting to do an anniversary session for her and Dylan! Excited doesn’t cut how I was feeling when I saw her inquiry- I was popping all the confetti! Not only was I honored that they thought of me when they decided who they wanted to hire for their own personal photos, but I was excited to hang out with them again!
Julie and Dylan’s anniversary photos in Downtown Indianapolis
Julie and Dylan live downtown and love the city feel, so I knew that we had to do their anniversary photos in Downtown Indianapolis! After giving her some suggestions, as if she even needed them with all of her own wedding experience, they chose The War Memorial Plaza! If you haven’t been to the War Memorial Plaza, you must go! It’s such a classic location for photos, especially at sunset as the sun lowers behind the city skyline! As if the beautiful skyline view, the golden doors and classic limestone weren’t enough, if you walk across the street there’s a beautiful fountain that looks just amazing in pulled back images, as well as light posts that serve any photographer well for composition. Julie and Dylan had so much fun walking, twirling, and giving each other sweet kisses during their session that I think we accomplished the mission!
Congratulations Julie and Dylan on four years of marriage!
You two are just beautiful souls inside and out, and I’m so honored to have been able to capture these anniversary photos in Downtown Indianapolis for you! I can only hope we get to work a wedding together soon, but in the meantime I’ll be swooning over these images we were able to get of you two! You know where to find me for your next session!
[…] Another one of my favorite engagement session locations in Indianapolis is War Memorial Plaza! There is so much variety here and is a great option if you’re having your session during the winter or early Spring when things are still a little brown since there isn’t much greenery. Another reason I love this spot is everything is very close together, and we can easily walk just a few minutes to other great locations mentioned in this post, like The Central Library and Monument Circle! There is street parking that will be around $5 and it’s usually easy to find a spot! You can see more from engagement sessions we’ve taken at War Memorial Plaza here! […]
