Typically I meet my wedding couples several months before their wedding day, but in Stephanie and Alex’s case, we met just TWO days before! Normally this would make me really nervous for a wedding day. However, having talked with Stephanie over the phone a few times prior, I knew they were going to be a delight to work with starting with their engagement photos in downtown Noblesville, Indiana. And you know what? A delight they were!
Tour de Love
Stephanie and Alex met in college, at Marian University in Indianapolis. Stephanie attended Marian on a cycling scholarship and Alex was a walk on to the team the year before she arrived. Alex was close to several of the cyclists and was attending the mandatory training camp for the team. Stephanie’s roommate and another friend were both friends with Alex, so as a result they ended up spending a lot of time together. At first, Stephanie knew she didn’t want to date anyone so she could get settled into her first year in college, but Alex was persistent and as soon as she got back from Thanksgiving break, he asked her to be his girlfriend!
The Surprise Proposal
While on a vacation with Stephanie’s to Spain and Morocco, a trip they had all saved up for for over a year, Alex had big plans up his sleeves! Part of the trip they went glamping in the Sahara Desert, and on the first night of camp, they had the most beautiful sky they had ever seen. Alex disappeared for a long time and when he came back it was cloudy and Stephanie was ready to go to bed. But Alex insisted on trying to take photos of the night sky together. As they were doing so, Alex asked her if she really wanted to travel and see beautiful places around the world with him in the future. Stephanie brushed him off and said, “Of course! Forever!” Then Alex got down on one knee and brought out the ring! After Stephanie screamed, “Are you serious?!” a million times, he picked up her jaw and said “Yes, of course, obviously!”
Stephanie and Alex’s engagement photos in Noblesville, Indiana were so timeless and fun!
We also captured their engagement photos in Downtown Noblesville, Indiana just TWO days before their wedding day since they live in New York City and weren’t able to travel to Indiana before the wedding! We met and started by the Hamilton county courthouse and moved around to different locations within the square! We even found a cute little ally filled with orange and teal banners for a few fun and colorful images to add to their gallery! This was the perfect fit for their personalities, especially Stephanie’s! We then headed to the bridge by the river and greenway a few blocks away! This engagement session was so simple and fun, and just the perfect representation of the two of them!
