A jaw dropping red ball gown? The biggest genuine smiles when they look into each other’s eyes? The week of their wedding? Monica and Matt’s Spring Holcomb Gardens engagement photos included all of these things and more, and we can’t wait to share them on the blog with you today!
When Monica reached out to me just a few days after she and Matt got engaged to inquire about wedding photography for their day, it was bittersweet.
I was already booked for that date with another one of our lovely couples, but I was so happy that our associate team was available to photograph their wedding day! See, I photographed Monica’s sister’s wedding, Mira and Patrick, at the same exact location last year so I knew their wedding day was going to be just as beautiful! In fact, their wedding day (coming up this weekend!) is going to be so similar to her sisters in the fact that they’re also taking bride and groom portraits at Newfields- one of our favorite luxury photo locations!

When they were both scrolling through Bumble, they stumbled across each other’s profiles and immediately hit it off! They both had a ton in common, including the fact that they were both currently in dental school, which they both just graduated from recently! As they approached graduation time, Matt decided to propose the day before Thanksgiving. He took Monica to a park and right after surprised her at her house with all of her family there to celebrate with them! That same day, Monica was so excited that she and her sisters went wedding dress shopping and found “the” dress the very same day!
Allison did an amazing job capturing their Spring Holcomb Gardens engagement photos earlier this week.
Monica had told me what their outfits were going to be, so I made suggestions to Allison beforehand of where each outfit would look best. I’m happy to say they turned out great for their Spring Holcomb Gardens engagement photos! We chose to photograph their fancier outfit at the grand staircase and pond area, and their more casual outfit along the gravel pathway and bridge!
They were both smiling from ear to ear, especially because Matt had just had his braces taken off just a few days before! If any of you had braces, you know how amazing it feels when you finally get them off! They also were grinning extra big, because it was also their wedding week! Yes, they booked their engagement session just a few days before their wedding since they wanted to wait until Matt had his braces off! It’s such an exciting week, and although their cheeks may be sore from so much smiling in one week, we’re so happy to have these two in front of our team’s cameras so often in one week!
