Welcoming a new addition to the family is undoubtedly one of life’s most beautiful and cherished moments as a lifestyle newborn photographer in Indianapolis.. It’s a time filled with joy, love, and a sense of awe as you hold that tiny bundle of happiness in your arms. Recently, I had the privilege of capturing these precious moments during Baby Nova’s lifestyle newborn session in Indianapolis, and it was an experience filled with warmth and nostalgia.

Nova’s nursery was a sight to behold. It was a perfect blend of old and new, filled with heirlooms that held a special place in Jenna’s heart. These heirlooms, items from Jenna’s own childhood room, created an atmosphere of nostalgia and love. Jenna, Nova’s mom, lovingly recounted her memories of these cherished items, now adorning her daughter’s nursery. What made the room even more special was Jenna’s love for butterflies, evident in every corner. Her favorite butterfly necklace adorned her neck, a symbol of her own journey and now her daughter’s.
The Grants’ journey to parenthood was unique.
They moved to Nashville over the summer due to Jenna’s husband’s medical school internship. Baby Nova’s arrival was eagerly anticipated, and they had the nursery set up months before her birth. Staying with Jenna’s parents during their time in Nashville provided invaluable support during those early days of parenthood, as they transitioned into a family of three. The sleepless nights were made a little easier with the helping hands of her family.

Meeting Nova when she was almost one month old was a delightful experience. She was an absolute angel during our Indianapolis lifestyle newborn session, practically sleeping through the entire shoot. Babies have their way of surprising us, and Nova was no exception. In the midst of a quiet moment, she made her presence known with an adorable and quite audible diaper-filling declaration. We all shared a hearty laugh amidst the photo session, which required a quick break for a diaper change!
Capturing these precious moments for the Grants was an honor. Their kindness was evident throughout the session, and it felt like spending time with friends. I can’t wait to have them in front of my camera again during my fall mini sessions this year, just two months away. Baby Nova’s journey has just begun, and as an Indianapolis lifestyle newborn photographer, I am grateful to have played a small part in capturing the love and laughter that will accompany her as she grows!
