When the Smith family reached out to me at the end of the fall season to book me as their lifestyle newborn photographer for their second baby due in March, they wanted to add on a mini maternity session as well! When we started talking about locations, Dulls tree farm came up as an option Kelsey was interested in. Therefore, she decided to upgrade to a full hour instead of the 30 minute maternity mini session to not only allow time for maternity photos, but also family photos with their sweet 2 year old daughter.. There is a small fee to photograph at Dulls tree farm, so we also wanted to take advantage of the full time slot we would have to book anyways. I can’t wait to share this winter Indianapolis family photography session with you today on the blog!
Even though The Smith family lives in Bloomington, I was honored they trusted me for family photography in Indianapolis.
Kelsey and her family recently moved from Arizona to the Midwest! They had a trusted photographer there that they loved, so when searching who to go for family photography in Indianapolis, she had high expectations. When she received her sneak peek images and raved about them, I was so happy! One of my favorite things about this “job” is when clients express how much their photos mean to them, and this was no exception.
Dulls Tree Farm was the perfect location for this winter family photography session!
Even though we didn’t have snow for this session and a lot of the trees had already been cut down by families, we still had a ton of space to work with and beautiful christmas trees to photograph around. I also loved the gentle rolling hills that gave us beautiful views for this Indianapolis family photography session as the sun was beginning to set!
Their daughter, Hayden, is the sweetest little thing, loved to talk and enjoyed running around the property collecting sticks. To keep her engaged in the session, we made a game out of it to get her where wanted her for solo shots as well as photos with mom and dad. This worked like a charm!
I loved meeting The Smith family in person! Since my family and I also moved from Charleston, South Carolina only a few years ago, we both agreed that food in the Midwest food just doesn’t level up to the food where we both used to live, as well as how much of a headache home renovations can be. Regardless, The Smith’s are still loving Midwest life in their new hometown of Bloomington, Indiana and I cannot wait to visit them again at their home in March for their lifestyle newborn session!
Smith’s, I’m so glad that you found me for a family photography session in Indianapolis!
I can’t wait to document heirloom images at your second baby’s lifestyle newborn photography session soon, as well as future annual family photos. I love being a family photographer in Indianapolis, but to serve the same families over and over again is always an honor!
