Before Maddie and Austin even had their engagement session with me, I already knew they were just good, kind hearted people. From our initial Zoom consultation before they decided to book with me, to a week before their engagement session when they jumped at the chance to help me out! See, I was looking for a couple to model for our team at their first training, and when I posted in our KMP couple’s Facebook group, they were the first to volunteer! The whole team had so much fun with them, as Austin’s goofy personality made everyone laugh, while Maddie showed off her natural beauty. Just a few days later at their engagement session, they were already well trained in several of the poses I loved to do! Guys, I can’t wait to share more from their rainy Downtown Indianapolis Spring engagement photos!
Sports and school brought Maddie and Austin together!
Both Maddie and Austin are current students at IUPUI and both play sports! Maddie is a talented volleyball player, while Austin is on the cross country and track team. So one day when they were grabbing food in the dining hall, Austin, with his outgoing personality, randomly walked up to Maddie and her friend and asked if he could sit with them. They instantly hit it off and later that day at the soda machine, asked her out on a date! Since then, they have been inseparable, spending as much time together as they could between studying and practices and going on each other’s family vacations together! Austin is only a few short weeks away from graduating, while Maddie will soon be a junior, so they will be living in Indianapolis for a few more years even though they’re both from Northern Indiana and Wisconsin!
A day full of fun turned into one of their best days ever!
Austin, being the fun guy that he is, asked all of their friends to go to breakfast and an Escape Room. He had secretly asked her volleyball teammates to make sure she dressed up a little bit beforehand. After their fun morning with their friends, Austin took Maddie to walk through a park where they had their second date. Austin asked to take a photo of Maddie and had her turn around. When she turned back around she saw him down on one knee and he asked her to be his wife! Austin even had his cross country teammate hiding in the bushes with his camera, to capture the special moment! They both agree that it was an amazing memory that they’ll never forget!
Their Downtown Indianapolis Spring engagement photos were an adventure!
As I was about to leave my house to head Downtown, I noticed a few sprinkles on my windshield. I quickly checked the weather again, and in perfect Midwest weather style, the weather forecast had changed from just a few hours earlier! There was now a 60% chance of rain for when our session was supposed to start! I quickly called Maddie and asked them if they wanted to reschedule or take our chances! To my surprise, they both wanted to move forward with their Downtown Indianapolis Spring engagement photos! I quickly threw my clear bubble umbrellas in the car, and headed to meet them.
When we met, I reassured them that these would still be amazing images, and that some of my past sessions in the rain have been some of my favorite! The rain elevates the romance, and the bubble umbrellas don’t hurt either! Luckily for us the rain was pretty spotty and there were only a few sprinkles so it wasn’t too much of a nusunce, but I’m so happy with how everything turned out! We had so much fun together in the rain!
Congratulations Maddie and Austin!
