Emily + Alex | Coxhall Gardens Engagement Session in Carmel, IN

Couples

August 25, 2022

Emily and Alex’s Coxhall Gardens engagement session was adorned with stunning outfits and their rescue dog, Sadie! After spending an evening with these two, I am counting down the days until their June 2023 wedding at Daniel’s Vineyard in McCordsville, Indiana and am so excited to share this Coxhall Gardens engagement session on the blog!

Emily and Alex met on Hinge, and just a few months later COVID hit!

Emily and Alex hit it off right away, and then COVID changed how often they could see each other! Emily is a physical therapist and worked on the COVID units in 2020. Because of this, she quarantined and stayed away from pretty much everyone to keep them safe. Alex FaceTimed Emily every single day (sometimes a few times a day) until they were able to see each other again. Once they could be around each other, they were pretty much inseparable!

Alex got down on one knee in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by their best friends!

Two of Alex and Emily’s best friends live in Nashville, so they planned a friends weekend in the Music city! One morning they all went for coffee and took a big group picture. Before Emily knew it, they were the only ones in the photo and Alex was down on one knee. Of course Emily said yes, and they got to celebrate in Nashville with their friends! Emily loves how passionate Alex is, and Alex loves how bubbly and goofy Emily is, despite being “smarter than him”!

I was so excited to finally meet Emily and Alex at their Coxhall Gardens engagement session!

The day of their engagement session rain was predicted at 10 pm, but the weather took a turn for the worst and rolled in much earlier than expected. We watched closely, and ultimately decided we would risk a few rain drops! Much to our surprise, it only rained for about 5 minutes, and we waited it out under our clear umbrellas. I loved how the sky looked for this session – so moody and romantic! As you can tell, the lighting ended up being on our side, and I loved how the photos from this Coxhall Gardens engagement session turned out.

What really made this session stand out were their outfits, and of course, their dog!

We squeezed in three outfits at Coxhall Gardens, and I loved every single one of them! Emily’s adorable picks were mostly from Amazon, and I told her she needs to make a “favorites” list so I can shop from it. Alex even brought out his custom suit, which looked dashing in front of my camera! Alex’s parents brought their rescue dog Sadie, who was cute as can be! Luckily with the predicted bad weather, no one was in the park and she sat still and was so perfect during our session. Despite the weather scare, I loved every minute of this Coxhall Gardens engagement session.

I can’t wait to capture more of this couple at Emily and Alex’s wedding at Daniel’s Vineyard in June 2023! Thank you for picking Kaitlin Mendoza Photography for your engagement and wedding photos!
