There’s something so special about capturing a newborn session right in the comfort of a family’s home. Noah’s in-home newborn session was no exception—it was warm, relaxed, and full of meaningful details that made it uniquely theirs. As a Carmel, Indiana newborn photographer, I love helping families plan sessions that feel effortless and true to their season of life, and this one came together beautifully.
Noah’s nursery was a dream to photograph in.
Soft cream tones paired with sage green created the most peaceful atmosphere. When mom sent me photos of the space during our planning process, I immediately started envisioning the soft, cozy look we could achieve together. Originally, we considered casual cream-toned outfits to match the “at home” aesthetic, but with Spring in full bloom, we decided to lean into the season a bit more.
When planning Carmel, Indiana newborn photography sessions, I love taking the stress out of planning by helping to coordinate their outfits.
Mom pulled a lovely gingham dress from her own closet—something she already loved and felt great in—which we used as the starting point for our wardrobe choices. I helped coordinate the rest of the family’s outfits around it. The girls wore sweet, complimentary looks from Zara Kids, and dad kept things classic with a crisp white button-up. And of course, we kept everyone barefoot to embrace the relaxed and cozy vibe that makes in-home sessions so timeless.
One of my favorite little details?
Noah’s tiny comb-over hairstyle—seriously, how cute is that? He was calm and content for most of the session, and we were able to get the sweetest moments with his big sisters doting on him. Newborn sessions with toddlers can always feel chaotic, but I always reassure parents that with patience and some of my tricks, we will be sure to get a few cute photos of all your children together!
This session was the perfect example of why I love Carmel, Indiana newborn photography—the ability to document a family in their own beautiful space, celebrating their newest addition in a way that feels honest and effortless. These are the moments that truly stand the test of time.
