When The Sixpence in Whitestown, Indiana asked me to participate in a styled shoot that they were hosting, I didn’t hesitate! Ever since this beautiful venue opened its doors earlier this year, I’ve been dying to photograph a wedding there. Unfortunately, every wedding inquiry that I’ve had so far for The Sixpence, I’m already booked for their wedding date! So until the stars align and I’m lucky enough to photograph one of our Kaitlin Mendoza wedding couples at this gorgeous venue, I’m hoping this collaborative shoot will tie me over!
The Sixpence’s owner is also a photographer, so when designing the venue, she made sure to include large windows that let in a ton of gorgeous natural light! All of the decor inside is neutral, clean and modern, which checks the boxes for a lot of couples in Indiana and allows them to add their own personal flair to fit their wedding vibe!
I attended the evening session at the styled shoot, and had the privilege of hanging out with several other Indianapolis photographers. We had so much fun working together to capture different shots, and got to photograph the most beautiful red headed model, Naomi Norris! She wore a dress provided by Blue House Bridal, and was all dolled up by Indianapolis hair and makeup artists Something Blue Stylists! We mostly photographed our model outside The Sixpence in Whitestown, Indiana in front of their iconic white barn, as well as down by the creek. We also had the privilege of using 317 Limo’s classic white trolley that made for some really fun and unique images! I would love for one of my 2022 couples to rent this trolley- pretty please?
Towards the end of the session at The Sixpence in Whitestown, Indiana, it started to rain. So we opted to head inside and finish with a few shots by the head table that was full of florals put together by Wedding Florals by Patty. The pinks and purples she chose, coupled with our model’s red hair, made for vibrant editorial images that I just can’t get enough of!
Needless to say, if you’re looking for the perfect wedding venue in Indiana- The Sixpence could very well be the perfect venue for you!
