As a maternity photographer in Indianapolis, one of the greatest joys of my work is getting to know families over time. Anna’s studio maternity session was extra special—not only because of the beautiful moments we captured, but because I’ve had the honor of photographing this sweet family since their youngest daughter was born. Watching families grow and evolve year after year is the most meaningful part of my job, and it’s always such a compliment to be invited back to document each new chapter.
Anna chose two different looks for her session.
Two dresses she felt beautiful and comfortable in, which is always my top priority when styling sessions. Both looks were soft, feminine, and flattering, allowing her natural glow and the joy of this season to shine through effortlessly. Studio maternity sessions offer such a peaceful and timeless setting, and this one truly felt like a celebration of motherhood and family.
What made this session even sweeter for me as a maternity photographer in Indianapolis?
That Anna brought her husband and two kids along, turning it into one of their final photos as a family of four. These moments are always some of my favorites to capture—the giggles between siblings, the hands on mama’s growing belly, the way parents look at each other knowing how life is about to change in the most beautiful way.
At the end of the session, we played around with a darker backdrop, and I’m obsessed with how the black and white images turned out—so timeless and emotive. They added such depth and contrast to the gallery and were the perfect way to round out an already stunning session.
