Amidst the bustling city of Indianapolis lies a hidden gem known as the 100 Acre Woods, a picturesque haven boasting stunning late fall foliage and a serene pond. It happens to be one of my favorite locations for family portrait sessions and it’s here that the Kabir family, visiting from Washington DC during Thanksgiving week, had their heartwarming Indianapolis family photos, despite the overcast skies.
As a photographer, I believe in making the best of every situation.
Though the sun chose to hide behind the clouds, the beauty of the fall colors still shined through. I typically will reschedule on a super overcast day, but due to the jam packed Thanksgiving week we were unable to reschedule to a different day or switch locations for their Indianapolis family photos. The Kabir family nonethelesss seized the moment as we had so much fun together capturing their sweet family interactions and authenticity among the elements.

Offering a blend of tall grasses, gravel pathways, and tranquil ponds, providing diverse backdrops without the need for extensive walking, perfect for accommodating their energetic toddler. Despite occasional coat breaks to ward off the chilly weather, the session flowed seamlessly at 100 acre woods, with so much love filling the air.
What truly made this session special was witnessing the genuine connections and joy shared among mom, dad and their son. From playful moments with their son to even a few photos of just mom and dad together, each image encapsulated the connection that they share.

Capturing their memories in the city where their love story began added an extra layer of significance to the photos. It was evident that Indianapolis held a special place in their hearts, and I felt honored to document this chapter of their journey in such a meaningful location.
Despite the unpredictable weather, the Kabir family’s Indianapolis family photos were a testament to embracing life’s moments with grace and joy. Through laughter and love, amidst the rustling leaves and breeze, we created some tangible memories that they will cherish for years to come.
