When my realtor and friend Emily Huskey asked me to capture her newborn photos at her home in Whitestown, Indiana as her due date inched closer, I was so excited! Even though weddings are the bread and butter of my business, I also love serving families as a Carmel newborn photographer. Newborn sessions just hold a special place in my heart! Ever since our own newborn session was canceled due to quarantine at the beginning of the pandemic, I realized how precious those first few weeks are with a newborn, and how important it is to document it!
Emily did an amazing job decorating Brooks nursery, with an adorable national parks theme!
All the little details were perfect, from the national parks themed story books, vintage prints, clay colored walls, and the small hanging plants- everything came together so nicely! If you’re expecting a baby boy soon, I hope her nursery design can give you some inspiration! Brooks was the perfect little model too, sleeping a majority of the time and opening his eyes towards the end for some solo shots.
As a Carmel newborn photographer, I love personalizing each session!
Emily loves taking classic polaroids, so we made sure to capture her taking poladroid photos of Baby Brooks. We also photographed Baby Brooks surrounded by momentos and old photos to incorporate Emily’s dad, who passed away a few years ago. This was a sweet way to personalize their session, other than the typical images we capture in the nursery and around the rest of the home.
Congratulations Emily and Kyle on your precious baby boy!
It’s been so fun to capture this exciting season in your lives, from your announcement photos to Brooks’ newborn photos- I’m so honored to be the one to photograph it all! You two have seamlessly taken on the role of parents, and I can’t wait to follow all the adventures and trips you go on as a family! Scroll down to see just how adorable this little guy is!
