Stephanie and Alex got married last Saturday October 16th, at the beautiful and quaint Hawks Point Acres in Anderson, Indiana! It was the first crisp fall day that we’ve had this season and their wedding day was every bit of perfection!
I only met Stephanie and Alex at their engagement session, a few days before their wedding because they live in New York City and weren’t able to make it back to Indiana again before their wedding day! However, I knew from our first phone call and reading over their questionnaire that these two were going to be very easy going and down right fun!
How They Met:
“We met in college, at Marian University in Indianapolis. I attended Marian on a cycling scholarship and Alex was a walk on to the team the year before I arrived. He was close to several of the cyclist and was attending the mandatory training camp for the team. My roommate and another friend, the only people I knew going into freshman year at Marian, were both friends with Alex and we wound up spending a lot of time together as a result. I made a promise to myself not to date anyone until after Thanksgiving and when I got back home from Thanksgiving break, he asked me to be his girlfriend (November 28, 2011).”
How He Proposed:
“We got engaged October 21, 2019. We were on a vacation with my family, visiting Spain and Morocco. We all planned and saved for the trip for over a year. My must do item on the list was to glamp in the Sahara. We got to camp the first night, and it was the most beautiful sky I had ever seen. Alex disappeared for a long time and by the time he came out it was cloudy and I was ready for bed but he insisted on trying to take pictures of the night sky. The details are fuzzy, there wasn’t a speech or anything but he asked me if I really wanted to do this kind of stuff (travelling and seeing beautiful and amazing things) with him in the future. I brushed him off and said of course! Forever! And then he got down on one knee and brought out the ring. After a few “are you serious!?”s from me, I picked up my jaw and said yes, of course, obviously!”
Thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped make their day so special!!
